Objectives:

  • Provide an open forum for discussing coastal ocean observing systems in the Southeastern U.S.A., including their current status, future plans, and opportunities for development.
  • Present the progress and plans for the SouthEast Atlantic Coastal Ocean Observing System (SEA-COOS) and related programs.
  • Identify and facilitate linkages between SEA-COOS and government agencies, particularly state organizations, to enhance the utility and application of SEA-COOS information products.
  • Consider the outcome of the Ocean.US Regional Summit held in Washington, D.C., on March 31-April 1, 2003 and steps to be taken to form a Regional Association for the SouthEast.

    This session will consist of a series of panel discussions and presentations from representatives of a number of state agencies in the Southeastern region, which will focus on management issues related to the following topics:
